What are we doing to others?

People are so complex. We have complex bodies, complex minds, and a wardrobe of faces to maintain according to the trend settings. We are capable of great inventions and discoveries. But can we be so astute, that we become capable of hurting other simple creatures in the ways we can't even imagine? 

We say that a place defines a person. But isn't that also true that a place is known because of its people? You know, those certain important people! Well, certainly it is. Humans, are talented, whether be it a political issue, a menu card or a bill; we can argue on any topic. I wonder what different insects, animals, birds and trees think about us. Are they happy with the unbreakable bond we as planet-mates have or are they conspiring against us, waiting for an opportunity to attack and take over? Will they kill us and use us against our will like directly or indirectly we do? Or will they let us go and live in the world we have created for them like sanctuaries, parks, gutter, roadsides, shelter with cages with insufficient food, garbage pits etc? Sometimes I wonder what if animals were in charge, wouldn't the world would have become greener and more diverse. A world where there is nothing like global warming, burned forests or any government to rule us anymore, just happy free creatures roaming around freely and in peace.

Humans are selfish and yet, kind-hearted. We have the power to play with anything( or we just create it). Humans are indeed capable of hurting other people in ways humans can't accept, even to the people they love and trust just to get what they want. Are other simple creatures the same? Do they treat each other in the same way? We have cut trees and plucked its blessings when we needed and grew them only when we have an empty space to own mini garden in the backyard of our wooden-furnished homes. Is this fair? With so much going on, how are we supposed to find peace, how are we supposed to meditate when we know that it will just help us to put a veil on the sufferings and not solve it?
